Amazon EC2: Price structure

Web

So, yesterday I was writing about moving the blog to EC2. (If you saw the brief outage, it's because I'm still tuning Apache and MySql)Today I'll go over some of the pricing of it.Amazon's price for a micro instance rings in at $0.02 an hour or around $175 a year. If you choose to go with the reserved instance it'll be $62 + $0.005 an hour: $105 a year. In either case there's extra charges for space at around a dollar a month and bandwidth charges.I signed up for a year.I'm figuring the all-in price works out to $10 a month which is in line with the regular hosting services. In the next day or two I'll be tuning the site a bit more... but so far, so good! The nice thing of the whole thing is if I need to I can scale this up way further than I can with GoDaddy. It's not a gimme, but at least it's doable.
