Bike rebuild: Day 1

I took the plunge. The Specialized bike is torn down to components.No turning back now. Surprisingly I'm feeling good about putting together something that, in the end, will be a bike. Now it's a frame and handlebars. (No, the headset isn't coming along for the ride just yet)I have all the parts except a few which should be showing up tomorrow.Current inventory:

  • Crank
  • Bottom bracket
  • Rear cassette
  • Front derailleur
  • Chain
  • Front shifters / brake (brifters)

Coming tomorrow:

  • Brakes
  • Rear derailleur
  • Cables

En's out of town so I get to play with no rush at all!  :-)Time to go downstairs and give the frame a good scrub. This is the first time it's been this naked, might as well wash it down!
