Separation of Church and State
Somehow I got on the mailing list for Ohio's governor, John Kasich.
GEORGE,As we continue to enjoy Spring's renewal, I'm grateful for God's endless power to make all things new, as evidenced by Christ's resurrection and His transformational power in my own life.On this Easter and Passover, weekend when we celebrate God's power over death, please join me in saying a special prayer of thanks for those in our armed forces who put their lives on the line everyday so that we can enjoy the freedom to worship as we choose. I'm especially mindful of this after a week in which four Ohioans were killed in action. Please join me in lifting up their families in your prayers today.Karen, Emma, Reese and I wish you the best on this special weekend.-JohnJohn KasichGovernor of Ohio
This, to me, is offensive. The last thing I want the governor to talk to me about religion in any way.I don't want to worship. I can accept the fact someone might want to pray to or for the man in the sky. But don't ask me to pray for a damn thing.
