Evaluation
I was listening to a podcast the other week; Cunning Minx from Poly Weekly was talking about something she does once a year. She was raving about a book: Your Best Year Yet!The way I figure, I have enough things preoccupying me that I don't need that it might be a good idea to have a bit of reflection, introspection, and evaluation. At this point I've read maybe a fifth or so of the book -- it's a quick read it seems -- and I think there's some value there. Sure, there's some of the feel-good fluff too.Nothing really is that much of a new thing really, but it seems to provide a good framework to think about how to go about planning big things in your life.Over the past year…..
- What did I accomplish?
- What were my biggest disappointments?
- What did I learn?
- How do I limit myself and how can I stop ?
- What are my personal values?
- What roles do I play in my life?
- Which role is my major focus for the next year?
- What are my goals for each role?
- What are my top ten goals for the next year?
- How can I make sure I achieve my top ten goals?
True... nothing groundbreaking -- but it seems like a good enough way to process stuff. Will it work? I'll let you know. :-)
