The nick of time

Today's post was supposed to be a description of setting up the new Synology disk array.That being said, I started to copy files from one of my external drives and I got a foreboding dialog about a drive disconnect. It turns out Zoe, my cat, decided to raid the now open closet and step on the power strip that was feeding the four external firewire drives.Of course that setup is fragile. Things never quite come up right,When I started to copy again I was getting all of a MB/s instead of 60-80MB/s.I guess tomorrow I'll have the bigger writeup about the install. Now, I'm on a half-working setup pulling data off the drives.
