Fame and glory... Rocky Horror style...
...without either the fame or glory. ;-) But I am in the paper back in Cleveland!Rocky Horror has been playing for twenty five years at the Cedar-Lee Theatre. I was performing there for almost twenty of those years. It's scary to think about if I expend too many brain cells. For the first ten or so years it was every Saturday night. Sometimes around Halloween we would do shows downtown as well. All told I performed somewhere between 600 and 800 times... I'm sure if I really tried to figure out I can get a better number. But let's take the low number. We would show up around 10:30 or 11:00 on Saturday night and get back in the car around 2:00 to 2:30 in the morning after the show was over and the post show meeting. Let's figure three and a half hours a show. Times 600. That's 2100 hours. That's a full-time job for a more than a year. !It was a good run. I met my first girlfriend there. I met a bunch of really good friends there. I had a mini fan club for a few months. I met Ennie there. I had fun.Towards the end of the run -- you know, the last year or two -- I was apprehensive before every show, but came out on a high damn near every time. It's fun being someone else for a spell of time.Congrats guys on the 25 years and here's to many more! Cheers!
