Cynical
I've been on a cynical streak lately. The government shutdown is just one more opportunity for me to exercise that bit of cynicism. The big hullabaloo is about the Affordable Care Act -- a.k.a. "Obamacare."I generally think it's a good idea. I'm sure that there will be tweaks needed as things get implemented, but at its core I think it's a workable plan. The Republicans are doing everything in their power to stymy it. They've said from the start that it will be the downfall of America. The sky is presently falling. A large chunk of the country believes that. Here's where I get cynical. If Obamacare is implemented and America doesn't fall to shreds then the Republicans have nothing but egg on their face since this was their big rallying cry. If they get to take it apart then the can claim they've "protected" us from it -- but if it goes into full effect and it's not as bad as they've made it out to be then they prove that they are a bunch of douche-bags.

It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.
