Clipping

A month or two back I wrote about podcasting and I mentioned clipping.Yesterday I recorded a podcast and found a really good example of it!Let me set the stage: me and Holly are interviewing a mutual friend. We're all packed into a small room with Holly being stage left, me on the left but closer to the center, and our friend being on stage right.Holly let out a laugh.Even though the gain was set a lower than normal, here's what it looked like:The tops and bottoms of waveforms are quite square. Since Holly was on the left the left channel is clipping while the right one isn't.I think it's a cool example of what this looks like in real life.
