Today I turned 41. Our puny little world has circled around the the sun, good old Sol, 41 times.Sol, in turn, is moving around the galactic center as well. It's moving at around 220 km/s. In that time we've all traveled around 284.5 billion kilometers or 176.8 billion miles around the center of the galaxy.To put things in perspective Pluto, the now defunct planet *, is around 5.9 billion km from the sun. We've traveled 48.45 times further than the distance from the sun to Pluto.That's quite the distance. 11 light days.
