Chasing the Dragon

Wikipedia defines the term as:

"Chasing the dragon" (traditional Chinese: 追龍; simplified Chinese: 追龙; pinyin: zhuī lóng; Jyutping: zeoi1 lung4) is a slang phrase of Cantonese origin from Hong Kong referring to inhaling the vapor from heated morphine, heroin, oxycodone or opium. The "chasing" occurs as the user gingerly keeps the liquid moving in order to keep it from coalescing into a single, unmanageable mass. Another more metaphorical use of the term "chasing the dragon" refers to the elusive pursuit of the ultimate high in the usage of some particular drug.

I've never done the first part... but the second part, for sure.By "drug" in this case I mean experience. I'm not too keen on most drugs.Walking back from getting some food tonight the topic of chislic came up. One of En's friends was in town last week and they went to Naked City Brewing and he was amazed that it was on the menu."It's a Dakota thing... why is it here in Seattle?"We had the same dish many moons ago in Dawson, British Columbia. Only then it was called "steak frites." Damn Franciphones affecting the west. Meh.But that particular instance of food, call it chislic or steak frites or whatever you want.It was a bit of heaven. Deep fried, salty, dip-able in some dressing heaven.It was a long day up to that point. We drove all the way from Liard River Hot Springs that day with a bent front wheel that day. We order the steak frites. It was better than anything we could put into out faces at that moment.We've never been able to recapture that with the fried steak.It was the ultimate high that we keep going after.
