Welp... broke something else on the bike... (my own fault)
I was installing a speed bleeder on my bike today. The idea with the speed bleeders is that they have a ball bearing check valve to prevent air from getting sucked back into the braking system of the bike when bleeding the brakes.Thankfully I was working on my rear brake first... but more on why in a moment.I unscrewed the stock bleed screw and installed the speed bleeder. Little did I know that the device was made out of soft cheese as opposed to metal.Applying no more than a few foot pounds of torque the thing just sheared off. :-(Now it's quite stuck I have to say. Thankfully in the position it's in the bike is still rideable, but I can't bleed the brake. So, why is it lucky that I was working on the rear first? Because it's screwed into the bolt that holds the banjo bolt onto the caliper and not directly into the caliper itself! I can simply buy a new bolt and be done with it!Net cost of mistake: around $25.I'll just have to go into the brake system a hair more than normal and she'll be all right.
