Sikanni River to Liard River Hotsprings

One of the first days without any real rain, and that is a nice change of affairs. I know that this place is in a drought, but at the same time it's a nice change of pace to not have to worry about getting wet. We did get a few drips on the visor, but it's nothing that would get classed as anything more than a light sprinkle.Though, along those same lines, we did ride through the results of the dryness: smoldering remains of forests.  :-( It's rough seeing all those trees charred and blackened. Seeing the smoke from the side of the road and feeling a bit of the latent heat brought things home.We met up with some other bikers along the way. The nice thing about motorcycles is that you always have something to talk about, or at least start the conversation. One group, Ride for Inclusion, was on a charity ride from Deadhorse to Key West. Top and bottom in one ride. We also kept on running into another guy on a Goldwing... we seem to be taking the same route at the same pace. Finally, the destination. Apparently the park's campground is full. But across the street the privately run lodge had plenty of space. And we have wifi to boot. We're a five minute walk from the springs anyway, so it's not a big deal anyway. And we also have a restaurant! 😀
