Social Justice Warrior

I was talking to a friend of mine today and I finally was able to put into words my problem with the trope of the Social Justice Warrior.First off, I want to be clear that I have no problem for fighting for social justice. I want it. I'm feeling the Bern... Yes. But that's not what I'm talking about.But much of what I see the Social Justice Warrior do is nothing but flame on the internet or drive slow in the passing lane to prove a point. The reality of their fight isn't to make anything better -- it's to get noticed.Here's another view of things: Bernie Sanders and Kshama Sawant. Both fall into the broad category of "socialist." Bernie's a democratic socialist while Kshama is more socialist socialist. Kshama aggravates the hell out of me while I've given money to Bernie.You have to ask why that is? The stated goals are shockingly similar. However, it's down to action. Bernie is a leader who places the good of those he is fighting for in front. Kshama seems to be the opposite. Her actions seem to be about getting the spotlight on her without accomplishing anything useful. (Half the time it just makes a good sound bite but it's actively counterproductive like the recent stealthy rent control rubbish she got passed.It's the difference between making sure everyone sees you protesting and/or gets annoyed at you compared to doing something to active effect change. That is what I get annoyed about the generic Social Justice Warrior.
