May Day

Seattle has this odd thing with protests on May Day. May Day -- May 1st -- originated as a workers protest. Control of it has since been shared (at least in Seattle) by the socialists (leaning more towards the communist side) and the anarchists.They use it as an excuse to basically have a mildly controlled riot. This is known so well that business have sometimes preemptive lay boarded up their windows to prevent this damage from occurring in the first place (Starbucks). The high-end car dealership moved all their cars as well -- no Ferarris on Capitol Hill.This just gives me a sad.There's no problem with a protest. There's no problem with people having nice things.There is a problem when in order to make yourself feel better you insist on tearing everyone else down.
