There's a name for bikers that go out in no gear. Squids. The typical attire is tank top, shorts and flip flops.This guy almost fits the bill. He was turning from 83rd, my street, north onto Linden. The helmet keeps him technically legal. But being technically legal doesn't keep you out of the ER if luck catches up to you.People ask me if what I wear is uncomfortable. Most times the answer is "no." Modern motorcycle gear is pretty well designed with ventilation and waterproofing and all sorts of comfort features in addition to the protective aspects of it.Some days, like today when the mercury is up at 94ºF (34ºC), yes, yes it is uncomfortable. Even with the mesh and moving I'm somewhat baking in the riding suit.But I can tell you it's way more comfortable than a trip to the ER.
