Async gifting

I realized that I need to switch up gift-giving. The people in my life have everything they need already.You have two instances: Christmas and birthdays. The problem is that thinking of things at the right time isn't ideal. And when you do thin k of something, what's the use of waiting? They would like it now, and by the time the next even comes around they may have already gotten themselves the thing you thought of...So, I think that the notion of just decoupling the idea of "giving" from the notion of the set holidays might be quite the idea.Why the heck didn't I think of this sooner?
