Presidential Alert

Yesterday was the test of the Presidential Alerts, this is an extension of the Emergency Broadcast System that's been around for as long as I've been watching TV in the mid-70s.But we have President Trump in office so this thing was suddenly controversial.People. Listen, this was made a law back in 2006, implemented under then President Obama, now it's rolled out enough and there was a well-publicized test of the system. This is not news (other than telling people that the test was going to happen so as not to cause panic).The system isn't even run by the president, whoever happens to be in the Oval Office. He or she merely authorized a message, then FEMA takes over and does the heavy lifting.But then I read the comments on a couple of news sites like the Washington Post. You would've thought that something had actually happened.People need to simply calm the fuck down.
