Ok, yesterday, around seven blocks from my house, there was a murder.Posted in the SPD blotter is the headline Detectives Investigating After Man Shot and Killed in the Licton Springs Neighborhood.As I was typing this I had the thought that "under 10, you spell out the number." It's seven blocks away.It's also adjacent to the "low barrier" homeless camp. This is the one they allow drug use in.Yes, it's sanctioned by the city.How many more people need to get killed before someone starts to take this problem seriously. Because, honestly, up until now we're not doing anything to help mitigate the problem, we're just enabling people to stay on exactly the path they are already.
