Song lyrics
As I grow older I relate to songs more and more.I was listening to "Piano Man" from Billy Joel last week.
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."As a smile ran away from his face"Well, I'm sure that I could be a movie starIf I could get out of this place."
Walking around Seattle I had that exact feeling. Not that I could be a movie star, of course, but the fact that it just feels like the city is killing me here.Sitting here I thought of a line from Janis Joplin's "Me and my Bobby McGee:"
Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose
I think that's why my mood has been elevated a much as it has been.I think my funk, in being beaten down to the extent it has been, has got me to the point of not having much else to lose. Not in Seattle at least. (This is leaving out people of course, I don't want to lose some of the people I have here)Sitting here, waiting for a couple of books about Nashville and Tennessee to arrive.Soon.🙂
