House Heat Management
I'm not a hot weather type of guy.
Today in Nashville it got up to around 85º according to my weather app.
The strange thing though is that my house remained relatively cool. Sure, the second floor was a bit warmer, but it was still tolerable. In Seattle I would be in the basement trying to stay sane; here I was a bit warm. And the main floor was very temperate the whole day (except the aptly named "Florida Room")
It's interesting. The house was built with heat management in mind. It's perfectly sited to the land. It's facing dead south with a porch in the front to provide shade to the downstairs windows. There's no sun that hits the first floor in mid-day at all. Even the second floor is pretty well done with only sunlight coming in through two dormers.
All this without the air conditioning on.
I like it!
