Farms

I know there are strawberry farms in the Seattle area, but most of them are on the other side of the ferry on Bainbridge Island.

Today we hopped over to Gallatin and visited a farm that En ran into at a market nearby, they invited her to visit the farm (they do for everyone, they run a strawberry farm and sell locally) and we picked a bunch of them.

Now, less than a half a day after being in the sun, about two-thirds are in jars as freezer jam!

As far as canning goes, this is my first real time that we were doing this ourselves without someone who really knows what they are doing helping us out. (I had canned some beans with Lita before)

It's now in the "wait a day then put it in the fridge or freezer" stage of the game. From the drips that fell on the counter that we quickly lapped up, this will turn out great! :-D
