Having worked at Amazon
Working at Amazon is working in a pressure cooker.
I've heard it described that Amazon is where smart people go to feel dumb.
But at the same time it's also one of the best business schools out there.
After the fact I've realized that I've learned more at Amazon over the nearly seven years I was there than I could have imagined.
Everything from operating at a high level to having a far deeper understanding of why different roles ask the questions they do. The "why"s of business. And from that learning to anticipate the questions and having the answers at hand.
Empathy for your fellow workers, regardless of role, goes a very long way to make you a better person.
