Stockholm Syndrome
With this whole lock down thing that's going on there are people on either extreme of the situation. There are the Karens of the anti-mask crew that are yelling at everyone. Similarly, there are the Karens of the other side who are cheering on never leaving their houses again. (Screaming online only of course since they never leave)
There's the thing with Stockholm Syndrome where you start to empathize with your captors. The thing is the captors are, for the most part, the captives themselves.
It's like a self-Stockholm-syndrome-by-proxy situation some people have gotten themselves into. They are proxying the virus for the captors, and seem to identify with it even stronger.
Reality seems like it's between never leaving the house again and having mass gatherings at this point.
Both can be wrong, but for different reasons.
