Flying in the time of Covid

Regardless of what you think of the present situation, air travel has been substantially curtailed.

Now, I work at a corporate travel company... thankfully this company falls under the umbrella of Enterprise Holdings so things are going well for us for now. But travel bookings (and this is not a trade secret at all) are well down.

Well, as I’m writing this, I’m on an Alaska Air Boeing 737-900.

Other than having masks (which I’m not going to get into this time), the travel experience is pretty much as before. At least with Alaska they’re not filling the middle seats right now so I don’t have anyone next to me. (Actually, I’m in a row to myself with three seats to myself)

As long as we’re generally being careful, I think we’re past due to start getting back to some semblance of normal. Humans aren’t built to be isolated for months or years, I would argue that it may be more damaging than the virus at this point.
