Classic

When I was growing up my parents never listened to country music. I know my dad generally talked it down.

It stuck.

I would always say I liked all types of music except rap and country.

It’s a limitation that was self-imposed. It had nothing to do with what I actually liked… just what I was taught to like.

When I moved to Nashville Ennie and I watched Ken Burns’ Country Music (and I would recommend that to anyone at all!), and I realized that I actually didn’t mind it at all. Driving around in the truck around me it just felt natural to have it on. I don’t really understand why, but it did.

Friday, as I was grinding away at work I put on an Apple Music Country station. I found it a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love 90% of the songs played on there.

Then this came on.

It just so resonates with me.

Maybe it’s that I just like the concept of the simpler times of the past. There is so much going on so quickly. I think I rather like the slower past.

And so much of country captures just that.
