Drawer Slides
One of the last things that I need to do to the arcade is install the drawer. I was, as is custom, over the top and I got a push-to-open, undermount drawer slide.
It’s kind of intimidating.
Today I finally opened up the packaging to get a sense of how it comes together. And I think I finally got it. The thing that’s a bit annoying is that my drawer sides are a skosh too thick, so I’m going to have to thin them out on the table saw. Not a big deal at all, but it does make all the math for putting things together a bit more complicated.
Stupid inches and millimeters.
Yes. I still think in inches for the most part. I get the metric system pretty fine, but all of the products here are going to be on the inch system. Like, it I buy sheetgoods like plywood, it’s going to be 3/4” or 1/2” typically, though 1/4” is common enough and 1" can be had as well.
I have to thin down the (nominal) 3/4” (23/32” actual) down to 16mm under the drawer shelf.
Like I said… annoying.
