Process Breakdown

There’s almost a trope about businesses having process and procedures that break down in some way. The answer, nearly invariably, is to add more process. Like… this is something that isn’t working with the level of process there is, but adding more is going to make it better?

The answer that few seem to think of is that the answer for process breaking down is… wait for it… less process.

What you want to do is make the right thing that needs to be done the easiest thing to do. You automate the heck out of things. You take decisions out of the flow. You make is so being lazy makes things work better.
