Call back “when we’re ready”

I tried logging into my USPS account yesterday to mail a package and found that it had been disabled. Which is weird because I get their daily emails telling me what mail I’m getting from that account that I can no longer log into.

Ok, something it jibbered. I find the number to call on their website and called in. As expected, there was a wait. They offerered that they could call me when there was an available agent. …sure… why not? The estimate was something like 36-70 minutes.

Time passes.

They call back.

“Press one where valuable customer is available.”

1. 1. 1. 11111111.

Nothing. Pressing one did nothing. They hung up.

A few minutes later they call back.

This time 1 works.

Now, to set expectations, I was ready to talk to a human to try to troubleshoot my broken account.

…music…

I gave up after spending half a fucking hour on hold.

The same time I would’ve been on hold anyway.

Gaaah!!
