Everything’s Connected

…more than you think.

I wear boots. I have crappy ankles due to medical issues, so I wear boots. They give me good support.

For the past month or so I was gettin knee and hip pain. I didn’t really realize why. Yesterday I stood up and I realized that my feet were killing me. That’s when it dawned on me that I have to learn this lesson every two or three years — when the insoles of my boots wear out, everything else in my body gets all messed up.

From the moment I took off said boots, things felt better.

I suppose I was simply compensating for my feet with other joints. And since they weren’t being used the way they should, they hurt.

File this away for a few years from now, after the new insoles wear out once or twice and I get new boots and the stock insoles wear out. Then I have to remind myself of this.
