The Monitor Is In!
I’ve been fearing this moment for far too long. I have the expensive 32-inch OLED gaming monitor that was living in my office because it’s safer.
Today I wired up the electrical for the arcade cabinet…
None of this was overly hard… just a couple of runs to the hardware store (because the first run I got the wrong thing, of course). At the end of this I have the internal outlets installed as well as the power supply and everything is checking out correctly.
At the end of this I decided to, as you saw up top, attach the monitor to the sled I built to support it. I was dreading this for some reason.
But it all worked. I sat the MiSTer on the drawer to test to make sure things nominally worked. They, thankfully, did. The MiSTer, the monitor, the amplifier, and the speakers are all working as expected. Tomorrow I’ll move from the electrical to the electronics.
