Team Trust
One of the things you need as a team is trust. I don’t care what type of team you’re talking about.
Obviously for something like a sports team, you all need to be working together — and trust that each of your teammates are working towards the same goal.
But it applies to any group activity where you’re going for a goal of any type.
This is something I’m running into with work: there is an overall lack of trust among the people I work with. Everything is overloaded with process and no one owns things. The diffuse nature of this is an anti-pattern for sure.
I want to go to work and trust that the people I’m working with are aiming for the same goal. Just as important I want people to trust me as well.
Processes and procedures that are put in place to deflect blame from failures and to provide plausible deniability when something breaks suck. It’s not a way to build a cohesive team.
